One of my go-to spots whenever I’m craving something spicy! The malatang is so satisfying and always helps me de-stress. The staff is always friendly, and the food comes out super fast. Definitely a place I keep coming back to!

Very solid place. I’ve been to another Malayan place in Anaheim and it was extremely disorganized and unclean. Here it’s completely different! I got the dry Mala and was very satisfied with the flavor and cook! It’s all very well kept and clean. Clearly labeled items , and tons of variety to choose from. I love the atmosphere here and would come again for dinner! Good for groups 2-6. Larger parties than that I could see it taking a while. I will come back to try their mala soup next time!

Best mara-tang/xiangguo place! First of all, very clean, and Brian was very friendly and professional. The spiciness levels here are consistent, so you can find the perfect level for your palate right from your very first taste.

Pixiu is apparently a symbol of wealth and good fortune. This is more Chinese style mala tang, but they also have a dry stir fry that is more Korean style. They also have yellow pickled cucumber as a side dish. You pay by weight. This location is inside The Source on the third parking floor/second floor. You can join the yelp waitlist if there is a line. Otherwise you get seated at your table, then go get a big metal bowl and scoop ingredients that you want. Keep in mind whether you want stir fry or soup. After your bowl is done, you take it to the register for them to weigh it. They will give you a number and you take it back to your seat. Weird thing here is you don’t pay yet. After you eat, you take the receipt to the register to pay. Sauce bar is in the back by the restroom entrance. No WiFi Credit card accepted One Star off for only having fatty beef and lamb as meat choices. There was no seafood, like shrimp or octopus pieces.

This is one of my favorite Mala Tang chain spots. I usually go to Chinese Mala Tang places in the San Gabriel Valley, so I was really surprised at how tasty this Korean-style Malatang is. It’s set up like a buffet — you pick your own ingredients from the bar, including different types of noodles. Everything is fresh, and they restock the bar often. They also have a self serve sauce station so you can mix your own perfect dipping sauce for your bowl. I really love the potato noodles — they taste so cute and have that chewy boba like texture. The staff is super friendly, and it only takes about 10 minutes for them to cook your customized Malatang. They also have other dishes on the menu, and you should definitely try them. My favorite is the Guobaorou — crispy fried pork sirloin with a sweet and sour sauce. The flavor is very unique and totally different from the regular sweet & sour pork you see elsewhere. A must-try! Quick tips: Pixiu Mala Hongtang is on the 2nd floor inside The Source OC entertainment center. There is plenty of parking available.
